          <h1>Commencement of Finance Act 1978: specified sections deemed in force from 1 April to align with the fiscal year.</h1> The Finance Act, 1978 gives effect to the Central Government's financial proposals for the fiscal year 1978-79 and is cited as the Finance Act, 1978. Except as otherwise provided, sections 2 to 33 and section 40 are deemed to have come into force on 1 April 1978, aligning the operative provisions with the start of the fiscal year.
