of <h1>Amendment to Section 50 of Income-tax Act: Reference Date Changed from January 1, 1954, to January 1, 1964</h1> Section 50 of the Income-tax Act has been amended by the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1977. In clause (2), the original reference date '1st day of January, 1954' is replaced with '1st day of January, 1964.' This change takes effect from April 1, 1978.
