<h1>Applicants Can Get Penalty Reductions for Disclosing Cartel Evidence Under CCI Regulations, 2009; Up to 100% Reduction Possible</h1> Under the CCI (Lesser Penalty) Regulations, 2009, applicants can receive a reduced penalty for disclosing evidence of a cartel violating section 3 of the Act. The first applicant to provide crucial evidence enabling the Commission to form a prima-facie opinion or establish a contravention may receive up to a 100% penalty reduction, provided no other applicant has been granted this benefit. Subsequent applicants offering significant additional evidence may receive a reduction of up to 50% for the second in priority and up to 30% for the third. 'Added value' refers to evidence that significantly enhances the Commission's ability to establish a cartel's existence.
