of <h1>Amendment lets Government raise GST registration turnover threshold from Rs.10 lakh up to Rs.20 lakh for special category States</h1> The amendment permits the Government, upon request by a special category State and recommendation of the Council, to raise the aggregate turnover threshold for registration from Rs.10 lakh to an amount up to Rs.20 lakh subject to notified conditions and limits. It expands the list of States treated as special category by adding Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Uttarakhand to the existing reference to Jammu and Kashmir for the purposes of that Explanation.
