Resignation of Appellate Tribunal members requires written notice and continued office until a successor, term expiry, or permitted earlier release.

The Chairperson or any other Member of the Appellate Tribunal may resign by written notice to the Central Government. In the ordinary course, the office-holder continues until three months after receipt of the notice, or until a successor enters office, or until the term expires, whichever is earlier, unless earlier relinquishment is permitted by the Central Government.
