Regulation 6: Submit Six Copies of Paper Book Two Weeks Before Hearing for Customs and Excise Cases
Regulation 6 of the Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission Procedure, 1999, outlines the requirements for preparing paper books for hearings. Applicants or commissioners intending to rely on documents must submit six copies of a paper book, indexed and paged, at least two weeks before the hearing under specified sections of the Central Excise Act or Customs Act. The Commission may condone delays in submission. During hearings, parties have thirty days or an extended period to submit necessary documents. The Commission can also direct the preparation of paper books. All documents must be legible, certified as true copies, and properly indexed.
