Postal parcels from foreign ports subject to same customs assessment when sent as ordinary mail to foreign parcel department. Postal parcels or packets arriving from foreign ports in India may be forwarded as ordinary mail to the Foreign Parcel Department of the General Post Office and, for customs assessment and related purposes, are to be treated identically to postal parcels from foreign ports outside India with the same prescribed customs procedures applied for assessment, clearing and processing at ports, land customs stations and airports.
