Foreign contribution restrictions require prior government permission for political organisations and bar intermediaries from forwarding foreign funds.

Organisations of a political nature, other than political parties, may not accept foreign contribution without prior Central Government permission; the Government may designate such organisations by Gazette order. Prohibitions also bar residents and citizens abroad from accepting, acquiring, or delivering foreign currency or foreign contributions for these organisations, or delivering currency known or believed to be destined for them, except with prior Central Government approval.
