The appropriate Government may appoint qualified medical practitioners as medical officers for prescribed establishments, subject to prior disclosure of any interest. Medical officers shall examine and certify workers in dangerous occupations, provide medical supervision where work-related illness is reasonably suspected, and examine and certify adolescents for fitness to undertake work likely to injure their health, all as prescribed by the appropriate Government.
