Postal import assessment rules apply through notified post offices, excluding test-dependent goods and export promotion scheme imports.

The Postal Imports Regulations, 2025 govern assessment and clearance of goods imported through notified Foreign Post Offices. They do not apply to goods requiring sample testing before clearance, including animals, plants, perishables, publications depicting India's boundaries incorrectly, precious or semi-precious stones, gold, and silver. Imports under applicable Foreign Trade Policy export promotion schemes are also excluded.
