Safeguard measure review allows continued imposition or withdrawal based on injury assessment and industry adjustment.
Continued application of a safeguard measure may be reviewed by the Director General on the basis of information received during review proceedings. If the safeguard measure remains necessary to prevent or remedy serious injury and the industry is adjusting positively, a recommendation may be made for continued imposition. If there is no justification for continuation, a recommendation may be made for withdrawal. The procedural requirements in rules 4, 5, 6 and 10 apply, with necessary modifications, to the review.
