Disposal of seized property: certified inventory is primary evidence and items must be forwarded promptly to designated officer.

The Central Government may notify classes of seized articles, currency or securities for prompt disposal by specified officers considering value and vulnerability. Seized items must be forwarded without unnecessary delay to the designated officer, who shall prepare a detailed inventory of identifying particulars and seek Magistrate certification; such certified inventories are to be treated as primary evidence in prosecutions under the Act and the seizure must be reported to the Sessions Court for confiscation adjudication.
