Seizure memo requirements ensure documented inventory and witness verification during search and seizure procedures, including electronic media description.

Regulation 14 requires an authorised officer executing a warrant to prepare a seizure memo in Form E, signed by two witnesses and prepared in the presence of the person from whom documents were seized when available; electronic media seizures must be described in Form F. The memo must record entry and exit times, identities and addresses of persons and places searched, officers and other persons present, signatures of the officer and witnesses (with thumb impression and date), signatures of owners or persons in possession, signatures of persons from whom seizure is effected, any identification marks placed, and verification of the inventory of seized documents.
