Rakesh Goel is a Chartered Accountant with over 10 years of experience in the field of indirect taxation, with core expertise in Goods and Services Tax (GST), litigation, advisory, compliance, and tax transformation projects. Rakesh began his professional journey with EY, where he spent 4.5 years in the Indirect Tax practice assisting clients across diverse sectors on GST implementation, advisory, compliance, and litigation matters. During his tenure, he worked with several marquee clients including ITC, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Microsoft, and leading players in the retail and manufacturing sectors.
Following his consulting experience, Rakesh joined Bharti Airtel as Regional Tax Controller for the Eastern Region, overseeing tax functions across 11 states. In this role, he led litigation strategy, advisory support, MIS and reporting functions, and various tax efficiency initiatives, while working closely with business and finance teams on complex operational and regulatory matters.
With a strong blend of consulting and industry experience, Rakesh has joined AQUILAW"s indirect tax advisory and litigation practice having advised and presented large corporates to rekindle the consulting fire.
