of <h1>GST Imposes 18% Tax on Lighters and Parts (Excluding Flints and Wicks) Effective 22 September 2025</h1> From 22 September 2025, cigarette lighters and other lighters, whether mechanical or electrical, and their parts (excluding flints and wicks) are taxable at 18% under the applicable GST schedule; this change is introduced by the relevant tax notification issued on 17 September 2025 and takes effect on 22 September 2025. The schedule entry classifies these goods for Integrated GST rate purposes and excludes flints and wicks from the taxable parts.
