of <h1>Notification No. 09/2002-CE(N.T.) raises permissible betel nut content in mouth fresheners to 15% under Central Excise Act.</h1> The Central Government has issued Notification No. 09/2002-CE(N.T.) dated March 1, 2002, amending Notification No. 16/98-Central Excise (N.T.) to increase the permissible betel nut content in mouth fresheners from 10% to 15%. This amendment is made under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and is deemed necessary in the public interest. The original notification was issued on June 2, 1998, and previously amended on June 8, 1999.
