of <h1>Certain Debentures by State Institutions from 1976 Specified Under Section 80L of Income-tax Act, 1961</h1> The Central Government has specified certain debentures issued by State Electricity Boards, Agro Industries Corporations, Housing Boards for rural housing, Co-operative Processing and Marketing Societies, and other state-sponsored institutions during the period from April 1, 1976, to December 31, 1976, under section 80L of the Income-tax Act, 1961. These debentures must meet specific conditions: they are not government-guaranteed for principal or interest repayment, issued only to individuals or jointly, non-transferable except among specified individuals, and carry an interest rate not exceeding 12% per annum.
