of <h1>Diabetes Research Centre in Madras approved for medical research under Income-tax Act, section 35(1)(ii).</h1> The Diabetes Research Centre in Madras has been approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research under section 35(1)(ii) of the Income-tax Act, 1961, as a 'Scientific Research Association' for medical research. This approval, effective from February 21, 1978, to February 20, 1980, requires the institution to maintain separate accounts for funds received for scientific research and submit annual returns of its research activities to the Council by May 15 each year.
