Government Grants Tax Exemption to Peoples Action for Development (Maharashtra) u/s 10(23C) of Income-tax Act.

The Central Government, exercising its authority under clause (iv) of sub-section (23C) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, officially recognizes the Peoples Action for Development (Maharashtra) Committee for tax exemption purposes. This notification, numbered S.O.687 and dated January 12, 1978, applies from the assessment year 1975-76 onwards. A correction was made by Notification Number 1022 on January 30, 1981, which amended the name from "People's Action for Development (India) Maharashtra State" to its current form.
