of <h1>Marathwada University Gains Tax Exemption Approval for Scientific Research Under Section 35(1)(ii) of Income-tax Act</h1> The Marathwada University in Aurangabad has been approved by the Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, as an institution eligible for tax exemption under section 35(1)(ii) of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This approval pertains to scientific research in natural or applied sciences, excluding agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and medicine. The university must maintain separate accounts for funds received for scientific research and submit an annual return of its research activities to the prescribed authority by April 30 each year. This notification is effective from June 18, 1976.
