of <h1>Poona District Leprosy Committee Gains Tax Exemption Under Section 35(1)(iii) with Conditions for Social Research Funds</h1> The Poona District Leprosy Committee in Poona has been approved for exemption under section 35(1)(iii) of the Income-tax Act, 1961, as notified by the Secretary of the Indian Council of Social Science Research. This approval is contingent upon three conditions: establishing a research advisory committee to approve its social science research programs, maintaining a separate account for funds received under the exemption to be used solely for leprosy-related social research, and submitting an annual report detailing fund collection and utilization to the Indian Council of Social Science Research. The notification is effective from May 31, 1976.
