of <h1>Indian Academy of Science gains tax-exempt status under Section 35(1)(ii) of Income-tax Act since April 1, 1974.</h1> The Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore, has been approved by the Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology as a recognized institution under clause (ii) of sub-section (1) of section 35 of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This approval, which grants the institution certain tax exemptions, is effective from April 1, 1974, as per Notification No. S.O.1370 dated March 4, 1975.
