Government Forms Approval Committee for Biotechnology SEZ in Maharashtra Under SEZ Act 2005 to Oversee Operations

The Central Government has established an Approval Committee for the biotechnology Special Economic Zone (SEZ) located at Plot No. C-22, MIDC, Shendre Five Star Industrial Area, District Aurangabad, Maharashtra. This committee is formed under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and includes the Development Commissioner as Chairperson, along with members from various government departments such as the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Foreign Trade, Customs, Income Tax, and Finance. The Government of Maharashtra and the developer, M/s. Ajanta Projects (India) Limited, are also represented. The committee's purpose is to oversee the SEZ's operations in accordance with the Act.
