of <h1>Bihar Gazetted Officers Authorized as Tax Recovery Officers under Income-tax Act, 1961, Section 2(44)(iii).</h1> The Central Government authorizes every Gazetted Officer of the Government of Bihar to act as a Tax Recovery Officer under the Income-tax Act, 1961. This authorization is granted under sub-clause (iii) of clause 44 of section 2 of the Income-tax Act, 1961. These officers, appointed to perform functions as Certificate Officers under section 3 of the Bihar and Orissa Public Demands Recovery Act, 1914, are empowered to exercise the powers of a Tax Recovery Officer. This notification is issued as Notification No. S.O.992, dated April 1, 1962.
