of <h1>Approval Committee Formed for Petrochemicals SEZ Under Special Economic Zones Act, 2005; Key Officials Appointed</h1> The Central Government has established an Approval Committee for the petrochemicals and petroleum Special Economic Zone (SEZ) located at Baikampady near Mangalore, Karnataka. This committee, formed under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, includes key officials such as the Development Commissioner of the SEZ as Chairperson, and members from various government departments including Commerce, Foreign Trade, Customs, Income Tax, and Finance. The committee also includes representatives from the Government of Karnataka and the developer, M/s Mangalore SEZ Limited. In the Development Commissioner's absence, a Joint Development Commissioner will represent them.
