<h1>Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation gets nod for food processing SEZ in Chelembra Village under SEZ Rules, 2006.</h1> The Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation received approval to establish a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for food processing in Chelembra Village, Malappuram District, Kerala. Initially proposed in March 2005, the project was approved by the Board of Approval under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The SEZ Rules, 2006, recognized all prior approvals for SEZs. The Central Government confirmed compliance with legal requirements and formally approved the development, maintenance, and operation of the SEZ on July 6, 2006. The designated area, specified by survey number 2/20, covers 12.52 hectares and is officially notified as an SEZ.
