of <h1>Approval Committee Formed for IT SEZ in Coimbatore under SEZ Act, 2005; Includes Key Government Officials</h1> The Central Government has established an Approval Committee for a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) dedicated to information technology and IT-enabled services at Kalapatty Village, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu. This SEZ is developed by a private company. The committee includes the Development Commissioner as Chairperson and various ex-officio members from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Foreign Trade, Customs, Income Tax, Finance, and Tamil Nadu's Industrial Development Authority. A representative from the developing company is a special invitee. This setup is in accordance with the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005.
