of <h1>Government Amends Excise Duty Exemptions for Naptha and Natural Gas Used in Heavy Water Production; Adds KRIBHCO and RCF</h1> The Central Government issued Notification No. 63/2003-CE on July 31, 2003, amending the previous notification No. 6/2002-Central Excise. The amendments exempt excise duty on papad, jaljeera, naptha, and natural gas used in heavy water production at Hazira or Thal by specific entities. The changes involve substituting 'Vadodara or Tuticorin or Hazira or Thal' for 'Baroda or Tuticorin' and including M/s Krishak Bharati Co-operatives Ltd. (KRIBHCO) and M/s Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd. (RCF) in the list of exempted users. The notification aims to serve the public interest by facilitating these exemptions.
