<h1>Amendment Requires CITES Export Permit for Specific Species; Exports Limited to Designated Indian Ports Under ITC (HS) Policy.</h1> The Central Government has amended Chapter 12 of Schedule-2 of the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import items, 2004-09, under the Foreign Trade Policy. The amendment specifies that for CITES species, a CITES export permit is required. Exports are restricted to specific ports including Mumbai, Nhava Sheva, Kolkata, Cochin, Delhi, Chennai, Tuticorin, Amritsar, Calicut, Thiruvananthapuram, Kandla, and Mundra. No additional documents or approvals beyond those prescribed are needed from state or central authorities. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
