of <h1>India Amends Customs Notification to Grant Nil Duty on Goods Under Heading 5201, Effective July 8, 2008.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 84/2008-Customs on July 8, 2008, amending the earlier Notification No. 21/2002-Customs dated March 1, 2002. This amendment, made under the Customs Act, 1962, introduces a new entry, S. No. 166A, in the table of specified goods, granting a nil rate of basic and additional customs duty for all goods classified under heading 5201. This change is deemed necessary in the public interest and follows a previous amendment made by Notification No. 74/2008-Customs dated June 4, 2008.
