<h1>Approval Granted for New Gems and Jewellery SEZ Covering 10.035 Hectares Under SEZ Act, 2005</h1> The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for gems and jewellery in Maharashtra, proposed by a private organization. The SEZ will be located in the villages of Chirvat and Sangurli, Taluka Panvel, District Raigad, covering a total area of 10.035 hectares. The Central Government confirmed that all legal requirements under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, have been met, and a letter of approval was granted on October 12, 2007. The notification includes specific survey numbers and areas designated for the SEZ development.
