Under Customs Act, 1962</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has appointed the Commissioner of Customs (Import) at Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, Maharashtra, as the common adjudicating authority. This appointment is for adjudicating matters related to a show cause notice issued to M/s. Surat Metlon Private Limited and others. The notice was initially issued by the Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence, Ahmedabad Zonal Unit, on March 14, 2008. This decision is made under the powers conferred by the Customs Act, 1962, to streamline the adjudication process.
