The Central Government has established an Approval Committee for the multi-product Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Taluka Vagra, District Bharuch, Gujarat, as per the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The committee, developed by M/s. Dahej SEZ Ltd., includes the Development Commissioner of the SEZ as Chairperson and several ex-officio members, such as representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Customs and Central Excise, Income Tax, Ministry of Finance, and local government officials. A representative from the developer, M/s. Dahej SEZ Ltd., is a special invitee.
