<h1>Government Approves New IT SEZ in Tamil Nadu Under Special Economic Zones Act 2005, Covering Over 80 Hectares</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology and IT-enabled services in Sholinganallur II and Perumbakkarn Villages, Tambaram Taluk, Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu. Proposed by a corporation, the SEZ has met all necessary requirements under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and received approval on July 26, 2007. The designated area, as notified, covers survey numbers 534/4 and 602/7, totaling 80.81.5 hectares. This notification is issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce.
