of <h1>Government Lifts Port Restrictions on Betel Nut Imports from Myanmar under ITC (HS) Schedule I Amendment</h1> The Central Government has amended Schedule I (Imports) of the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09, removing port restrictions on the import of betel nuts from Myanmar. This amendment, issued under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, applies to imports conducted under Public Notice No. 289 (PN)/92-97 for border trade. The exemption from port restrictions is effective retroactively from February 20, 2007. This amendment is issued in the public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
