of <h1>Amendment to Central Excise Notification: Includes National Calamity Contingent Duty per Finance Act, 2001, under Section 136(3).</h1> Notification No. 54/2004-CE, dated November 9, 2004, amends the earlier notification No. 214/86-Central Excise dated March 25, 1986. Under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise Act, 1957, the Central Government introduces changes to include references to sub-section (3) of section 136 of the Finance Act, 2001. The amendments update the language to specify duties in the First and Second Schedules of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, and include the National Calamity Contingent duty as per the Finance Act, 2001.
