of <h1>SEZ in Kanchipuram District recognized as Inland Container Depot effective March 27, 2008, for IT and BPO sectors.</h1> The Central Government has designated March 27, 2008, as the effective date for the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) located in Madhuranthagam Taluk, Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu, to be recognized as an Inland Container Depot. This SEZ is focused on information technology, IT-enabled services, or Business Process Outsourcing sectors and is managed by a private company. This appointment is made under the authority of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and the Customs Act, 1962.
