<h1>India Revises Import Rules for Sri Lankan Goods Under ISFTA; Only Through Kolkata Port, Per Schedule-I Amendment</h1> The Indian government has amended Schedule-I (Imports) of the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for 2004-09, specifically regarding the import of certain items from Sri Lanka under the India-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (ISFTA). Imports under specific Exim Codes are now permitted solely through the Port of Kolkata. Additionally, these imports must comply with all existing ISFTA conditions. This amendment is enacted under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and is intended to serve the public interest.
