of <h1>Govt Appoints Joint Commissioner as Adjudicating Authority for Royal Art Impex Case Under Customs Act</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has appointed the Additional or Joint Commissioner of Customs (Import) at Jawaharlal Nehru Customs House, Nhava Sheva, as the common adjudicating authority. This appointment is for adjudicating matters related to a show cause notice issued to a private company, M/s Royal Art Impex (India) Private Limited. The notice, dated July 11, 2007, was issued by the Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence, Ahmedabad Zonal Unit. The appointed authority will exercise powers and duties originally assigned to the Additional or Joint Commissioner of Customs (Sea Import) at the Custom House, Chennai.
