The amendment pertains to the exemption of specified goods imported by entities such as Defence, Coast Guard, and others. Specifically, the amendment introduces a new entry for capital equipment imported by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for setting up facilities for manufacturing, repairing, and overhauling SU-30 MKI aircraft and its components, including the AL-31FP engines. This change is made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
