Import Policy Update: Palm Oil and Fractions Now 'Free' to Import, Except via Ports in Kerala.
The Central Government has amended Schedule-I (Imports) of the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for 2004-09 under the Foreign Trade Policy. The amendment affects the import policy for palm oil and its fractions, including crude, refined bleached deodorised palm oil, palmolein, and palm kernel oil. These items are now classified as 'Free' for import, but imports are not permitted through any port in Kerala. This amendment, issued in the public interest, modifies a previous notification from October 16, 2007.
