Amendment Introduces New Tariff Item for Zinc Oxide at 100% Purity, Sets Drawback Rate at 6.3% Per Kg.

The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, has issued Notification No.117/2007-Customs (N.T.) on December 5, 2007, amending Notification No.68/2007-Customs (N.T.) dated July 16, 2007. This amendment, under the Customs Act, 1962, Central Excise Act, 1944, and Finance Act, 1994, introduces a new tariff item in the schedule of the original notification. The newly added tariff item is 2817001003, which pertains to Zinc Oxide with 100% purity, and specifies a drawback rate of 6.3% per kilogram.
