of <h1>India Amends Import Rules: Off-Highway Dumpers Now Free to Import Under ITC(HS) Code 870410 00</h1> The Government of India, under the Ministry of Commerce, has issued an amendment to Chapter 87 of the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for the period 1997-2002. This amendment, effective from November 10, 1998, is made under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. It specifies that dumpers designed for off-highway use, classified under Exim Code 870410 00, are now free to import. This decision is made in the public interest and is communicated by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
