of <h1>Amendment to ITC(HS) Classification: Exim Code 93040000 Arms Now 'Restricted,' 0.177 Bore Air Guns Freely Importable for NRAI</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 12 dated July 4, 2005, concerning Chapter 93, Schedule-I (Imports) of the ITC(HS) Classification of Export and Import Items 2004-09. The amendment specifies that Exim Code 93040000, which covers certain arms like spring, air, or gas guns and pistols, is now classified as 'Restricted.' However, 0.177 bore air guns and pistols are freely importable for registered shooters and the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) for distribution to eligible associations and shooters. The NRAI must maintain records of imported weapons. Import licenses are required for other arms, with recommendations from the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.
