of <h1>India amends Export-Import Policy: Exports under EPCG licenses excluded from average performance calculations. Effective September 1, 1998.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce, has issued Notification No. 17(RE-98) regarding amendments to the Export and Import Policy for 1997-2002. Effective from September 1, 1998, this amendment specifies that exports made under any Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) license will not be included when calculating the average export performance for subsequent EPCG licenses. This change is made under the authority of the Foreign Trade Development & Regulation Act, 1992, and is intended to serve the public interest. The notification is signed by the Director General of Foreign Trade and the Deputy Director General of Foreign Trade.
