of <h1>Import of Printed Computer Designs Now Free Under EXIM Code 491191 00.20 as per Chapter 49 Amendment</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce, has issued an amendment to Chapter 49 of the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for the period 1997-2002. This amendment, effective from July 30, 1998, specifies that the import of hardcopy (printed) computer designs under EXIM Code 491191 00.20 is now classified as 'Free.' This change is made under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and is intended to serve the public interest. The notification is signed by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
