The amendment adds a provision to paragraph 2.31, allowing Indian government officials traveling abroad on official postings to carry food items (whether free, restricted, or prohibited) strictly for personal consumption as part of their personal baggage. This change is issued in the public interest and is documented under Notification No. 48 (RE-2007)/2004-2009, dated 12th November 2007.
