of <h1>Finance Ministry Amends Excise Notification: Brooms Made from Twigs Now Exempt from Duty Under S.No. 75B.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 35/2007-Central Excise, amending the earlier Notification No. 6/2006-Central Excise dated March 1, 2006. This amendment, effective from September 20, 2007, introduces a new entry, S.No. 75B, which specifies that brooms made from twigs or other vegetable materials, with or without handles, are now subject to a nil rate of duty. This decision is made under the powers conferred by the Central Excise Act, 1944, in the public interest.
