of <h1>Excise Duty Exemption for Life-Saving Drugs Amended: New Entry S. No. 47A Added to Notification No. 06/2002</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 06/2002-Central Excise, dated March 1, 2002, concerning life-saving drugs and medicines. This amendment, effective under Notification No. 55/2002-CE dated November 7, 2002, introduces a new entry, S. No. 47A, in the notification's table. It specifies that life-saving drugs or medicines listed in List 4 of the Government of India's Notification No. 21/2002-Customs, dated March 1, 2002, will be exempt from excise duty when labeled or relabeled in accordance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 1995.
