of <h1>Government Rescinds Three Central Excise Notifications Under Section 5A of Central Excise Act, 1944</h1> The Central Government has rescinded three Central Excise notifications under the authority granted by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944. The rescinded notifications are: 81/83-Central Excises dated March 1, 1983, 25/98-Central Excise dated August 12, 1998, and 5/99-Central Excise dated February 28, 1999. This action, effective from March 1, 2000, is deemed necessary in the public interest by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
